Dear Deviants,

This account was actually a sort of psychological experiment, to test one of the many strange natures of a web-based community like DeviantArt. As can be seen in this situation, the work of 2 popular, talented artists (chosen at random) had their work placed in a collection called ""Art" That No One Should Have to See". Yes, we realize it's hurtful, but it seemed like the most effective way to provoke a reaction. And in truth, it did. Over the course of just a few hours, we've gotten multiple forms of "flaming"- not only from the artists insulted in such a strange manner, but by their watchers, and even their watchers' watchers. Also, this has in turn increased said artists' "pageviews" and "favorites" because of all the newfound attention instigated by this situation; ultimately boosting their popularity. However, we sincerely regret if we have hurt either of the artists mentioned, and we hope that they can overlook this, for we do not actually have any negative opinion of their art.

Also, for those interested- another intriguing thing that seems to have surfaced in this little "experiment" was the fact that the "flamer" (this account) achieved its goal- to gain attention- all because of the "Defenders". Notice how 100+ pageviews were accumulated over just a few hours, though they had nothing whatsoever to do with art- which is supposedly the purpose of this community. This demonstrates how popularity can be very easily gained based on interactions with other Deviants, not on artistic talents. However, it also shows what a friendly and supportive community DeviantArt can be, though an awfully judgemental one as well; for we were called a "bitch" and a "dumbass", and told that we "have no life" and cannot "draw anything better than stick figures"- though no one even knows the slightest thing about our personalities, art, or otherwise.

We can all learn a lesson from this- don't judge a book's artistic talents or personalities by its cover.
